I'm IT too!

I know it is probably considered cheating to tag yourself but I did. :) Anyway here is the 5th picture in my hubby's work folder. He is on top of a water tank about 20 minutes from our house. He was able to stay home until there was enough daylight to work (an extra 2 1/2 hours in case you were wondering) and come home earlier too. That was my favorite part of this day. What he was actually doing up there I can't remember but I believe that he was mainly just there to watch a welder weld some mounting brackets to the tank. Later on my dh will climb the tank again to actually mount an antenna on the brackets. Below are two more pictures from the same day.

The Tank

Here is a fellow co-worker peeking in the side of the tank while dh is looking in from the top. Note the tank is not painted yet and there is no water in it either.

Floating Spigot

I thought this was a pretty nifty optical illusion.

Western SC

All these pictures were not taken in the same trip.

Sunset, 12/19. We didn't see the sun again this week up there after this.

I had to iron a shirt, and someone took a picture.

Antenna Installation

Putting the tower together

Done! These are only the two bottom sections, though.

The tower stands 100 feet tall.

Looking up through the tower.

Looks like a long climb!

I'm glad it wasn't me!

Myrtle Beach, SCRWA Show

Here's a few pictures from the trip.

The exhibit hall before hardly anyone was there.

Our booth.
I took this from the balcony of the suite in which I stayed, 13 stories high. (That's right, the 13th floor, but the hotel didn't have a labeled 13th. Bunch of superstitous hogwash!).

Don't look down!

La Mer. (Tuesday Morning)

The Apache Pier, which is (self-declared) the long fishing pier on the East Coast.

Looking Northeast.

Looking Southwest.

At the end of the pier (some 1200 ft.)

The Hotel where I stayed.

I took these pictures of the pier from the top floor of the hotel.

More to come later, just not enough time!

Notice: Blog has been Edited

To all my friends and fans:

I was recently compelled to take some pictures out of this blog after having received the impression from one of its subjects that they didn't want me taking unsollicited pictures of them (let alone blogging them!). In respect of these sentiments, therefore, future posts in this blog will be restricted to places, people that are of no consequence, and myself (if there is any difference between the last two:)).

Thanks,

WVernon

Mitford Office Tank

Starting off with:
The Ground Crew.

The Town of Great Falls, Chester Co.

A little church building just below us.

For some reason, swarms of wasps congregate on water tanks this time of year. I've been in this situation before, but I hadn't thought about it on this job until I got there. It was probably a good thing, too.

Done! (With the mount anyway)

The antenna, all twenty feet of it!

The sun went down on us, but I caught this while in a hurry to get down before dark.

Back on again the next day to finish clamping the cable.

Done!

Oops, wrong picture! I needed to shave after all that! (I turned a little gray, too)

OK, at least a slight improvement! Coffee and shaving do wonders!
