The Biggest Control Panel I have ever built

Just a few pix of this huge filter console that we have yet to put in.

I have forgotten how many input/output were built into this thing, but it took us a while to put it all together.

It will be put in at the Westminster Water Treatment Plant to replace their original backwash equipment (which was put in in the 70s).

Joanna Tank

Here is what we did. The tank that the county has there is as old as I am. I'll have to insert a picture of the tank from the end of the drive later on. We only took pix after we got to the catwalk.

Sorry about the picture quality. It was just an old digital camera.
Anyway, I pause for the shot and the gatorade.

And so, without any more ado, we go to the top.

After looking around at the scenery, we got down to business and opened the hatch. The probe wires can be seen hanging from the top of the inside of the tank.

This is looking into the tank.

I was closest, so I got to pull the probes out. You can see the small town behind me.

Then I went down to take pictures for the county. They needed to know how soon they should refurbish the tank.

There I go!

Here is the top of the tank on the inside. Pretty disturbing!

The bottom of the tank through about 25 feet of water.
And now, a few landscapes.

Oh, yeah. Here you can see that I do hook off onto the ladder!

Little Mountain

We had a tower to climb in Little Mountain, SC. Our mission was to replace an antenna and 7/8" coaxial cable. This was the tower, 350 feet to the top.

There is really a greater distance between the cellular antennae array and the top than appears.

Here is the base of the tower. You can see the rope that we use to haul stuff up the tower hanging to right (yellow).

There goes the first guy.

It's probably the most difficult structure I've ever climbed. That's not me above, though.

You probably wonder what the ground crew is doing in the mean time. This pic shows that most of the time, they look up the tower in fond admiration (HA HA!).

I didn't take any pictures on my climb to the cell array, but here's a few shots when I got there.

A real bird's eye view of the scenery. Below is looking back at the ground crew. You can see the tip of my boot in the bottom of the picture.

Cool as a cucumber, right? Actually, the array was rather comfortable.

And a couple random shots, all of which were taken from the array.

I've been to the top of this tower before, but I was glad to just take a picture this time!!! A LONG way to go!

Here's a self-portrait. Pardon my hair - I had to wear a hardhat. But still, if you had to climb that tower, your hair would get messed up, hardhat or no.

Conceited, I know. But nobody was there to take it for me!
